Dana Boule: A New Sensation
I met Dana Boule on the slippery, sweaty floor of our martial arts studio, my elbow in the back of her neck, her hands wrapped around a chunk of my hair, the usual girl encounter. After class she would perform in one of several punk bands and throw kicks on stage while she screamed and glared at you, then turn around and play an incredibly complex tune on the piano, standing up. Last summer a bunch of us followed Dana and her talented cohort Corey Tatarczuk to New Jersey to work on French Boy, her hilarious pop sensational music video. Miguel Drake and I filmed the action while Corey directed hilarious dance routines which also star another talented film maker Adrianne Jorge as well as Miss Lucy Stein and of course Dana doing her special Dana magic. Dana is also an excellent writer. I promise you will split your side laughing if you read her blog: Kung Fu Dana: An American in Paris. Dana now lives with her adorable, Princeton-scientist French husband in an apartment in Paris with a grand piano. Quelle Vie!
